· Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
· Comes prepared to care for patients. Supports the company and urgent care site through actions as well as words.
· Interacts with the manager regularly. Keeps manager and medical director informed of concerns and potential liability situations.
· Renders medical care to all patients who present to the urgent care on all assigned shifts .
· Arrives at the urgent care on the scheduled day at the start of shift (on time) and ready to work and leaves after the clinic closes and the last patient has left the premises.
· Obtains an adequate history and performs an appropriate physical examination for the presenting problem.
· Orders pertinent laboratory and radiographic studies as needed based on the initial evaluation.
· Makes appropriate therapeutic decisions in conjunction with the patient based on the information gathered
· Administers appropriate medication or treatment as necessary.
· Completely documents the patient encounter in accordance with CareSpot documentation norms and signs the EMR.
· Reviews all provider related ques while on shift and completes necessary task and signs diagnostic reports and follows up on patient care as indicated.
· Agrees to participate in periodic urgent care staff meetings.
· Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with urgent care standards.
· Abides by Universal Precaution and promotes the use of the precautions.
· Ensures accurate maintenance of patient's medical records and the patient records are treated per
CareSpot’s HIPAA and PHI Policies as confidential information.
· Participates in the development of education programs for the urgent care staff.
· Attends meetings as required.
· Attends education programs as needed.
· Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends.
· Be available and participate in on-call assignments.
· Participates in the onboarding, orientation, and/or training of newly hired personnel.
· Participates in the orientation and/or training of students including but not limited to: Advanced Practice Providers, Medical Assistants, X-Ray Techs .
· Act as primary supervising physician for APPs including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in accordance with all state rules and regulations under the auspices of the Medical Advistory Board (MAB).
· Conduct remote PEER protected review of the electronic medical record (EMR) for urgent care, worker’s compensation and specialty physical exams including adequacy of history, systems review, past medical and social history, physical exam, medical decision making and documentation supporting the level of service delivered. Review medical records for each supervisee according to state specific requirement or internal company policy.
· Meet with supervisees in person, via telephone or video conference no less often than is dictated by the MAB.
· Perform EMR review and conduct medically relevant investigation and adequate summary of findings regarding patient complaints through the Company’s consumer complaint system to determine if care was appropriate and advise other members of the healthcare team the next appropriate course of action.
· Offer direct observations of potential provider deficiencies to the State Medical Director (SMD).
· Ensure familiarity with and adhere to all policies and procedures and CareSpot culture.
· Collaborate with the Center Managers and trainers in onboarding provider assignees as necessary.
· Develop close collegial relationships with both direct reports and direct supervisor such that information flows seamlessly from one level to the next and communications are clear and clearly understood at all levels.
· Partner with the Center Managers and Regional Director as necessary in performing remediation and disciplinary evaluations, planning and monitoring.
· All supervising physicians will sign a Supervising Physician Agreement that will be maintained in the credentialing department and updated annually for all providers for which they are the primary supervising physician. All supervising physicians will be required to serve as back-up to other supervising physicians in their region and therefore will have their names and signatures included for all providers
· Performs other related duties as assigned
· Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Florida
· Graduate of an approved medical or osteopathic medical school
· BLS certification required
· Sound clinical judgment, excellent procedural skill set, and the ability to impart those skills to a variety of adult learners.
· Excellent bedside manner, customer service skills, and respect for patients, Advanced Practice Providers, and clinical support staff.
· Familiarity with EMR systems.
· Ability to receive and deliver valuable feedback.
· Ability to work collaboratively internally and externally.
· Self-assured, self-directed and results oriented.
· Organized and accustomed to meeting routine deadlines.
Preferred Professional Qualifications: Board certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, and/or Primary Care Medicine. Previous experience in an outpatient medical clinic or urgent care center.
Additional Qualifications: Understands and values the importance of both a team approach to patient care and conflict resolution in dealing with patients.
