Benefits & Leave Administrator

Department: 910000 - Human Resources - JAX
Location: Jacksonville

The Benefits and Leave Administrator is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan. Manages the programs for all leaves of absence, ADA and accommodations, workers’ compensation administrator for entire company. Also regularly assists with basic HR responsibilities, as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in ADP and vendor sites to accurate eligibility information and coverage data.
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Assists employees regarding benefit claims issues and plan changes.
  • Helps create and distribute all benefits enrollment materials.
  • Enrolls employees with insurance carriers/benefit vendors and processes life status changes and/or assures that electronic enrollments and file feeds are working properly and timely.
  • Responds to benefit inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Oversees, in details, leave and ADA programs.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Manages the open enrollment process in full.
  • Prepares and manages reports for allocation/billing for all group insurance coverages and creates self-bills where necessary.
  • Manages funding of lines of benefit-related programs as needed.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned.

Experience, Skills and Education

  • Associate’s degree preferred in HR or related field
  • Three years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration; including leave administration, ADA and workers’ compensation required
  • Proficiency with ADP preferred
  • Superior Excel skills
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws and the skills to research
  • Excellent written skills, verbal communication skills, and presentation skills all with proper grammar
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
